BIOGRAPHY
Allisa Charles-Findley is the sister of Botham Jean, a 26-year-old accountant, who was murdered in Dallas, Texas by an off-duty white female Dallas Police Department patrol officer, who entered Jean's apartment and fatally shot him after she mistook his apartment for her own apartment.
Charles-Findley serves as president of the Botham Jean Foundation, which promotes Christian intervention for social change. She advocates for victims killed by law enforcement. She also serves as president of Sisters of the Movement whose mission is to work in unity, demanding the implementation of policies and laws that are fair and just for people of color. She is a contributor to Black Love Letters, an exquisite anthology of letters and illustrations created by influential Black figures from Reverand Al Sharpton, Attorney Ben Crump, and Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, among many others, with a foreword by John Legend. She is also a TEDx speaker and the author of After Botham: Healing From My Brother's Murder by a Police Officer.
